Become a Foster

Open Your Home. Save a Life.

Every dog we rescue gets a second chance because someone says yes to fostering. Foster homes are the bridge between the shelter and a forever family, giving dogs the time, stability, and care they need to thrive.

Whether you can foster for a few weeks or a few months, you can make a life-changing difference.

What We Ask of Our Foster Families

As a foster, you’ll play an important role in helping us learn about your foster dog’s personality and needs.

We ask that you:

  • Provide a safe, loving home.

  • Feed and care for your foster daily.

  • Transport your foster to scheduled veterinary appointments when possible.

  • Help with basic training and house manners.

  • Keep us updated on your foster’s progress.

  • Take photos and videos so we can promote them for adoption.

  • Bring your foster to adoption events when scheduled.

  • Communicate any medical or behavioral concerns promptly.

You are never expected to handle difficult situations alone. Our team is always here to help.

Who Can Foster?

You may be a great foster if you:

  • Are at least 21 years old.

  • Rent or own a pet-friendly home.

  • Can provide daily care and exercise.

  • Can separate pets if needed during introductions.

  • Have reliable transportation.

  • Are willing to communicate regularly with our team.

Whether you’re a first-time foster or have years of experience, we’d love to work with you.

Why Foster?

Fostering saves lives in ways many people never realize.

When you foster, you:

  • Save a dog from an overcrowded shelter.

  • Help dogs recover physically and emotionally.

  • Teach them how to live in a home.

  • Give us valuable information that helps us find the perfect adopter.

  • Free up space so we can rescue another dog.

One foster home can save countless lives over time.

The Perfect Match

We carefully match each foster home with a dog that fits your lifestyle whenever possible.

Looking for:

  • A puppy?

  • A senior companion?

  • A running buddy?

  • A couch potato?

  • A dog that’s great with kids?

  • A dog-friendly companion?

We’ll work with you to find the right fit.

Foster-to-Adopt

Thinking about adopting but want to make sure it’s the right match first?

Our Foster-to-Adopt program allows approved families to foster a dog before making a lifelong commitment.
