Catherine “Cathy” Anne Lambert

April 23, 1959 – May 28, 2026

Cathy Lambert passed away on May 28, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on April 23, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Edward Arther and Frances M. Mathes, Cathy lived a life full of love and laughter.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, Albert Lambert, along with her son, Josh (Jill) Murphy, and daughter, Melissa Carver (Garrett Bray), and seven grandchildren (Faith and Eric Carver, Macie and Ashley Murphy, and Mimi, Tyler and Grayson Shouse). She loved her children and grandchildren immensely, closely followed by her dog, Frankie. Cathy is also survived by her two siblings, Edward (Pam) and Michael (Tina) Mathes.

Cathy was a jack of all trades and never backed down from a challenge. She was an adamant lover of dogs and the Chicago Cubs alike. She worked hard in her life, but played equally hard and made many loving friendships along the way, whether it was through coworkers or the darting community.

As one of the biggest Cubs fans, though the good years and the bad, Cathy rarely missed a game on TV or in person. One of her favorite memories in life was going to see them play on her 52nd birthday and being on TV with Cubs Super-fan Dorothy Farrell, singing “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” during the 7th inning stretch.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the service time at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 4, 2026 at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN. Friends and loved ones are invited to come share stories, laughter, and love, just the way Cathy would have wanted.

She will be laid to rest at Orchard Hill Cemetery in Wanamaker.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rides 4 Paws Transportation & Rescue, in support of Cathy’s love of animals.

Two years was entirely too short to enjoy my mother-in-law, Cathy. She was funny, raw, authentic, and spicy - all my favorite things in a person. Cathy was supportive, always curious where my work took me, and never failed to share my available dogs on Facebook. Her love of dogs rivaled my own and I think that made us instant kindred spirits. I will never forget her many kindnesses and the impact she has had on my life and my rescue. I am deeply honored the family has chosen my rescue to help continue her memory. Rest easy, Mama.
